Piedmont Cotillions would like to invite your rising 5th to 8th Grader to participate in our fall 2019 Sedgefield Cotillion. Our fall Cotillion will be held from October 7th – November 4th, 2019 at Sedgefield Country Club – Ross Course.
What is Cotillion?
Do you enjoy spending time with your friends, learning new things and dancing? Are you a 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th Grader? Well, then Cotillion is for YOU…
This program introduces the importance of social graces such as going through a receiving line, eye contact, making proper introductions, learning to converse comfortably with adults and peers, standing when a lady enters the room, inviting someone to dance, table manners, cell phone, and social media etiquette, RSVPs and much more.
The ballroom program includes basic Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, and Waltz. In addition, the, Tango, Country Western Dances, slow dances, line dances, and other currently popular dances are taught. Seventh and Eighth graders will enjoy dressing for special theme nights like Western Night and learning Barn Dances, Texas Two-Step and the Chattahoochee. We also have a Beach Night and students learn to Shag.
Parents of fifth and sixth graders are cordially invited to attend the last class to observe and dance with their children. Seventh and eighth graders will enjoy a special class with a DJ on the last night. Invitations will be mailed approximately one month prior.
Classes are scheduled on Monday evenings in October and early November and will run for five weeks at 7:00-8:00 for 5th and 6th graders and 8:15-9:15 for 7th and 8th grades.
Girls will wear Sunday dresses or skirts and white gloves. Boys will wear coat and tie, dress slacks and hard-soled shoes.
